Thursday night football featuring Ravens and Jets: time, how to watch, odds

The Jets, on the other hand, are 5-8 and third in the AFC, but they have won four of their past five games.

It is really no surprise that the Ravens, who lead the NFL in points per game (33.1), are heavy favorites in this game. According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, the Lamar Jackson-led Ravens have a 93.4% chance to win.

Baltimore is not only a 14-point favorite to win this game but also the new favorite to win Super Bowl LIV. The Ravens, at +250, top the odds to win the Super Bowl at Caesars Sportsbook.

Should the Ravens win this one, they will clinch their second straight AFC North title.

Jackson, the MVP front-runner, might be limited physically in this game. The quarterback was dealing with a quad injury during Monday’s practice and could be seen walking with a slight limp. He said Wednesday that he is good to go, however.

If Jackson is 100 percent on Thursday, he could make history: He is closing in on Michael Vick’s 2006 rushing record of 1,039 yards by a quarterback. Jackson currently has 1,017 yards.

Although the Ravens are a league-leading 11-2, they have won their previous two games by just three and seven points, respectively. At the same time, they have held opposing teams to 15.1 points per game during their winning streak. What will be key to watch is how their top-ranked rushing offense (200.9 yards per game) fares against the Jets’ second-ranked rush defense (78.8 yards per game).

They’re out of playoff contention, but the team has been winning lately. In addition to the run defense, quarterback Sam Darnold has put together a decent season, throwing for 2,424 yards and 15 touchdowns.

The Jets’ offense, in their past five games, has put up an average of 29.2 points per game. If they can get it going against the Ravens offensively, that might represent their only way to win. In the Ravens’ two losses, in Week 3 and Week 4, they gave up 33 and 40 points.
