No. 1-ranked Dylan Moses reopens recruitment
Moses, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound, do-it-all talent, said in a tweet that he wanted to open his recruitment again and give other schools an opportunity.
He added that LSU is still the front-runner for his commitment.
When Moses first received an offer from the Tigers in July 2012, the then-6-foot-1, 213-pound phenom made national headlines because he was in the eighth grade. Moses committed to hometown LSU over Alabama at 15 years old in September 2013, sending Tigers fans into a frenzy.
Since giving a verbal commitment to LSU, Moses has been active on the recruiting trail, making unofficial visits to Alabama, Florida State, Texas and a number of other universities.
The running back and linebacker has a number of strong relationships with the LSU staff, including cousin and secondary coach Corey Raymond, which will help LSU stay at the top of his list. Moses also attends University Lab High, which is a short walk from the LSU campus. He has former teammates from University Lab on the Tigers’ roster in offensive lineman Garrett Brumfield and running back Nick Brossette.
With offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Texas, UCLA and seemingly every other program that plays big-time football, the former ESPN The Magazine cover athlete has his pick of colleges. The Crimson Tide will be considered the main threat for LSU with national signing day for the 2017 class 19 months away.
LSU still has another of the nation’s top juniors in the fold in defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin, who is ranked No. 4 in the ESPN Junior 300.
