While he’s not widely available, Alex Wood (66% rostered) is by far the top pitching streamer on Tuesday’s slate that has a reasonable chance of being available in your league. He faces the Dodgers, but they’ve been a bit banged up lately and take a big park hit going into pitcher-friendly Oracle on a 60-degree day when most other games are in the 80s.

Noah Syndergaard (69%) is another solid option, but if neither are available, check out Braxton Garrett (17%). The young hurler has looked quite good of late, and he faces a Reds team taking a big park hit going into Miami, where the closed roof will provide better conditions than almost every outdoor game today. It’s also trade deadline day, which means some of the Reds better hitters (like Tommy Pham) may be gone before game time.

It’s not in Coors, but the Rockies and Padres are playing a double-header today. Brendan Rodgers (73%), Ryan McMahon (55%), Connor Joe (50%), Randal Grichuk (46%), Jose Iglesias (9%), and Garrett Hampson (less than 1%) are the guys to target for Colorado, while Trent Grisham (46%), Luke Voit (31%), and Ha-Seong Kim (9%) are the targets for San Diego.

With the trade of Scott Effross to the Yankees on Monday, ahead-of-the-curve fantasy players may want to make a speculative pickup of Rowan Wick. Most seem to think that David Robertson and Mychal Givens will be traded by the Cubs by Tuesday’s trade deadline, and many believed Effross would be the closer when that happened. With Effross now gone, though, Wick would likely be the guy if both Robertson and Givens are dealt. Get him before that happens, and drop him if it doesn’t.

If you’re hunting for steals, look no further than Oakland today. Their hitters are in the best possible SB matchup against Syndergaard (and likely Max Stassi). Ramon Laureano (13%) projects for a better chance than anybody else on today’s slate, while Tony Kemp (3%) and Elvis Andrus (3%) both are in the top 10.

It’s not too late to start another free fantasy baseball league. Leagues drafted this week will start scoring fresh the following Monday.

Pitchers are ranked in order of their Forecaster/Daily Notes projected fantasy points, using ESPN’s standard scoring system (5 points per win, minus-5 per loss, 3 per inning, 1 per K, minus-1 apiece per hit or walk allowed, minus-2 per earned run allowed).

T: The pitcher’s handedness. OPP: Opposing team. ML: Caesars Money Line. O/U: Caesars Over/Under for runs scored. W%: Starting pitcher’s win probability. For the projected stat line, IP is innings pitched, ER is earned runs allowed, BR is baserunners allowed and K is strikeouts.

If a team is planning on using an “opener” to start their game, but will rely on a “bulk pitcher” to follow him on the mound after 1-2 innings, we will list the bulk pitcher and indicate with an asterisk.

Best and worst hitters from the day are generated by THE BAT X, a projection system created by Derek Carty using advanced methods like those used in MLB front offices, accounting for a variety of factors including player talent, ballparks, bullpens, weather, umpires, defense, catcher pitch-framing, and lots more.
