Bills torch Patriots with 53-yard TD pass to John Brown

Five plays after New England retook the lead with a 51-yard field goal by Nick Folk, Buffalo captured its first advantage on a 53-yard pass from Josh Allen to John Brown.

Allen faked a handoff to Devin Singletary and as Kyle Van Noy and Lawrence Guy closed in on him, delivered a strike that traveled 31 yards in the air, per NFL NextGen Stats.

Brown shook free of Defensive Player of the Year candidate Stephon Gilmore with a double move, caught the pass behind safety Devin McCourty and sprinted untouched to the other end zone for his sixth touchdown of the season. The play gave Allen and Brown a league-leading four touchdowns that traveled 20 or more air yards.

It also continued an impressive in-game turnaround for Allen, who had only 19 passing yards with 33 seconds left in the first half. Since then, he has added 132 yards and two touchdowns to his stat line.
