Aaron Jones available for Green Bay Packers against San Francisco 49ers

Jones missed the previous two games because of a calf injury and was listed as questionable on the short week. He was limited in practice.

With top backups Jamaal Williams and AJ Dillon placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list (Dillon tested positive and Williams was deemed a high-risk close contact) it would have left the Packers with only Tyler Ervin and practice-squad elevated player Dexter Williams in the running back group. Indications are Jones’ calf has made significant progress but is still not 100 percent. That could mean he will be used only sparingly or in an emergency situation.

The Packers won’t have their All-Pro left tackle, David Bakhtiari. He will miss his third straight week with what the Packers have called a chest injury. Backup tackle Rick Wagner, who had been questionable with a knee injury, is active. He likely will start at right tackle while regular right tackle Billy Turner moves to left tackle for the third straight game.

Also inactive due to injury were: cornerback Kevin King (quad), safety Will Redmond (shoulder) and safety Vernon Scott (shoulder).

The Packers did not activate receiver Allen Lazard (core muscle) or linebacker Christian Kirksey (pectoral) from injured reserve even though both went through their second week of practice.
