Fantasy Football Trade Value Rankings: Why Justin Fields is a hot commodity in Week 11
Rankings changes: Justin Fields continues to pile on the fantasy points and forces his way into the top 5 at quarterback, with perhaps no end in sight. Is it fair to push Fields over Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson who were each on bye? Let’s put it this way: Fields scored more than 80 fantasy points over the past two weeks, and averaged 32.8 PPR points over the past four games. Burrow only has two games with more than 23 fantasy points and Jackson — who totaled more than 80 fantasy points in Weeks 2-3 — has topped 20 points only once since.
Quarterbacks with a case for being starters in 12-team leagues move up in the overall picture, especially Tua Tagovailoa and Tom Brady, who continues to score enough fantasy points to start. Brady is the No. 12 QB for the season. Not exactly awful or unplayable but not exactly Russell Wilson or Matthew Stafford. Oh, and Matt Ryan returns to top 30 status. You shouldn’t start him in fantasy, but he played well for Jeff Saturday last Sunday.
Trade for: Fields can’t keep scoring at this rate, but fantasy managers are obviously trading for him and for a good reason and it’s tough to argue against him now. Tagovailoa can’t help you this week — but he’s playing at an MVP level. Josh Allen may have lost Sunday’s incredible game, but despite the turnovers he hardly hurt his fantasy managers.
Be cautious: Aaron Rodgers finally found a wide receiver he can trust and eclipsed 17 fantasy points, but assuming he can be a fantasy starter remains risky. Kenny Pickett ran for a touchdown in the best fantasy game of his young career, but he remains raw. Be careful with Marcus Mariota too. The Falcons aren’t good and may turn to rookie Desmond Ridder at some point soon. It would be a surprise if Washington benched Taylor Heinicke, but that franchise has surprising moves before.
Rankings changes: Welcome back to the top 10 to the Jonathan Taylor! Meanwhile, we now have to worry about Alvin Kamara, his status as an RB1 is suddenly in doubt. It’s good to see Aaron Jones and James Conner bounce back to relevance as well. D’Onta Foreman and Jeff Wilson Jr. storm the top 20 while Leonard Fournette and Cordarrelle Patterson say goodbye.
Trade for: Foreman had a rough Week 10, but he’s looked terrific in the other weeks since the Panthers traded Christian McCaffrey. Wilson left San Francisco for an elite offense. Both should be considered back end RB2 options and are looking good.
Be cautious: Kamara is ranked with top rookies Kenneth Walker III and Dameon Pierce, but the rookies just feel like a safer option right now. At least Walker and Pierce know who their quarterbacks are and get safe volume. Assuming one of the relevant Buccaneers is safe is too risky. D’Andre Swift has seen his trade value drop with such low volume in Detroit.
Rankings changes: As Cooper Kupp (ankle) heads to injured reserve he moves out of the top overall spot. Justin Jefferson and Stefon Diggs each put on a magnificent show Sunday and move up, with Jefferson inheriting the top overall spot. CeeDee Lamb pushes into the top 10 and Chris Godwin and Rondale Moore rise to WR2 level as the No. 2 options on their teams.
Trade for: Anyone in the top 20 or so looks safe at this point. Perhaps Gabe Davis gives the Bills a pair of WR2s soon, but not yet.
Be cautious: It is too risky to assume any Rams WR, even Allen Robinson II, is safe for fantasy purposes. Robinson moved up in the rankings, but not as far as some would assume. Patrick Mahomes may win MVP, but he continues to spread the wealth to all of his receivers. JuJu Smith-Schuster left Sunday’s game early and newcomer Kadarius Toney starred. However, expecting consistent numbers from either may be dangerous. Keenan Allen and Mike Williams seem healthy enough to play, but they also remain risky. Let’s see the Packers’ Christian Watson and Titans’ Nick Westbrook-Ikhine have repeat performances in Week 11.
Rankings changes: .Major movement at this position as the Cole Kmet, Dalton Schultz and Juwan Johnson, almost by default, move into the top 10. Who else? The Raiders’ Darren Waller went on injured reserve. Dallas Goedert may follow. Zach Ertz is likely done for the season. Kyle Pitts is back to doing almost nothing statistically. However Foster Moreau and Harrison Bryant have become interesting.
