Quarterback Kirk Cousins took advantage of the Cowboys’ weak pass defense three plays into the Vikings’ first series of the third quarter, hitting Thielen on a deep crossing route for a 51-yard reception.
Six plays later, Thielen once again proved why he’s Cousins’ favorite red zone threat. Thielen ran a goal line fade on the far side of the end zone, hauling in a 2-yard touchdown with one hand, his second in as many weeks.
The touchdown and subsequent point-after attempt cut into Dallas’ 16-14 lead.
According to ESPN Stats and Information, Thielen is the only player in the last four seasons to have a one-handed receiving touchdown in consecutive games.
Surely, this one will receive a higher grade than the “9 out of 10” Thielen’s rookie teammate Justin Jefferson bestowed on Thielen’s one-handed grab against the Chicago Bears last Monday.
