2020 NFL cuts for all 32 teams: Who’s in and who’s out

Teams in the NFL were required to cut their rosters to 53 players by 4 p.m. ET on Saturday. Given the irregular offseason, with OTAs and minicamps occurring virtually for the first time, teams have had only training camp, which included 14 padded practices, to see their players in person.

The biggest names let go so far include a pair of running backs — Adrian Peterson by the Washington Football Team and Lamar Miller by the New England Patriots — and a former first-round pick, quarterback Josh Rosen, by the Miami Dolphins.

Here’s a look at the biggest move by each team and all the cuts:

Biggest move: The Bills’ most notable roster move was the decision to keep three quarterbacks, including rookie Jake Fromm, who had a long way to go to earn his teammates’ trust after his controversial text messages were leaked this offseason. Buffalo saw him as its backup of the future when it drafted Fromm in April, and it didn’t want to risk losing him by putting him on waivers. — Marcel Louis-Jacques

Waived/released: WR Duke Williams, TE Jason Croom, LB Vosean Joseph, LB Corey Thompson, DT Tanzel Smart, S Josh Thomas, OL Marquel Harrell, DT Vincent Taylor, DE Bryan Cox Jr., OL Trey Adams, CB Cam Lewis, RB Antonio Williams, QB Davis Webb, CB Brian Allen, WR Andre Roberts, WR Robert Foster, TE Nate Becker, CB Dane Jackson, DB Dean Marlowe, DE Mike Love, DT Justin Zimmer, OL Evan Boehm, OL Victor Salako, OL Brandon Walton, LB Andre Smith, RB Christian Wade

Reserve/suspended: FB Pat DiMarco, TE Tommy Sweeney

Biggest move: Dumping Josh Rosen just one year after giving up a second-round pick to get him shows what Miami thought of the young quarterback. More importantly, it provides insight into its comfort in rookie Tua Tagovailoa’s health and development. Tagovailoa has proved healthy, and he beat out Rosen for the No.2 QB role, so he should be active on game days and one snap from playing. It’s disappointing that the Dolphins struck out on Rosen, who now is at a career crossroads. It’s also a sign that coach Brian Flores believes not every trade or draft pick works out the way you hope. — Cameron Wolfe

Waived/released: QB Josh Rosen, CB Breon Borders, TE Chris Myarick, DT Brandin Bryant, G Danny Isidora, TE Nate Wieting, WR Matt Cole, T Jonathan Hubbard, DB Nate Brooks, RB Salvon Ahmed, WR Kirk Merritt, G Keaton Sutherland , DE Tyshun Render, CB Ken Webster, S Nate Holley, G Shaq Calhoun, RB Kalen Ballage, LB Trent Harris, WR Andy Jones, WR Gary Jennings, LB Kylan Johnson, CB Tae Hayes, DT Benito Jones, DT Durval Queiroz Neto

Biggest move: Releasing rookie kicker Justin Rohrwasser, the Patriots’ fifth-round pick (No. 159), which reinforced what reporters had seen in training camp: A lack of consistency as compared to veteran Nick Folk meant Rohrwasser wasn’t ready. Rohrwasser, who might have been dealing with an injury early in camp, would ideally clear waivers and return to the practice squad. The Patriots also released Folk, but that could be procedural because he doesn’t have to clear waivers, so it opens an initial spot to slide a player to short-term injured reserve. — Mike Reiss

Waived/released: WR Andre Baccellia, DT Michael Barnett, OLB Rashod Berry, OLB Tashawn Bower, G Ben Braden, CB Myles Bryant, TE Jake Burt, TE Paul Butler, K Nick Folk, C Tyler Gauthier, LB Terez Hall, LB Scoota Harris, CB Michael Jackson, QB Brian Lewerke, LB Cassh Maluia, RB Lamar Miller, DT Bill Murray, FB Paul Quessenberry, K Justin Rohrwasser, CB D’Angelo Ross, WR Devin Ross, WR Mohamed Sanu Sr., RB J.J. Taylor, WR Jeff Thomas, DT Nick Thurman, DL Xavier Williams, WR Isaiah Zuber

Biggest move: QB Joe Flacco, yet to practice because of April neck surgery, passed his physical, and he is on the 53-man roster. Flacco is targeting Week 3 for his return, a source said, which will require some roster gymnastics for the Jets’ opener against the Bills. Look for New York to add David Fales or Mike White to the game-day roster to serve as the QB2 behind Sam Darnold. Both Fales and White were cut Saturday, but they almost certainly will clear waivers, making them practice squad eligible. One of them — probably Fales — will get called up. After the game, Fales can be sent back to the practice squad without having to be exposed to waivers — a new rule. Smart roster management by the Jets. Rookie James Morgan is on the 53, but he isn’t nearly ready to play. — Rich Cimini

Activated from active/PUP: QB Joe Flacco

Waived/released: QB David Fales, QB Mike White, RB Josh Adams, WR Lawrence Cager, WR George Campbell, WR Jehu Chesson, WR Josh Malone, WR Donte Moncrief, WR D.J. Montgomery, TE Daniel Brown, TE Bronson Kaufusi, TE Ross Travis, OL Josh Andrews, OL Jonotthan Harrison, OT Jared Hilbers, OT Corbin Kaufusi, OL Brad Lundblade, OL Jimmy Murray, LB James Burgess, CB Javelin Guidry, CB Nate Hairston, CB Lamar Jackson

Reserve/non-football injury: CB Bryce Hall

Biggest move: The Ravens went with Trace McSorley as the No. 3 quarterback over Tyler Huntley, a mild surprise because Huntley outplayed McSorley in training camp and showed a stronger arm. One reason the Ravens decided to cut Huntley is because he is an undrafted rookie. With teams not having any preseason tape on Huntley, it’ll be easier for Baltimore to get him through waivers and onto the practice squad. This marks the first time in the franchise’s 25-year history that the Ravens kept the same three quarterbacks (Lamar Jackson, Robert Griffin III and McSorley) from the previous year on their season-opening roster. — Jamison Hensley

Waived/released: QB Tyler Huntley, TE Jerell Adams, OLB Aaron Adeoye, RB Kenjon Barner, CB Terrell Bonds, C Trystan Colon-Castillo, DT Aaron Crawford, CB Khalil Dorsey, G Parker Ehinger, OL Will Holden, WR Jaylon Moore, LS Nick Moore, CB Josh Nurse, S Jordan Richards, OLB Chauncey Rivers, TE Charles Scarff, WR Jaleel Scott, P Johnny Townsend, S Nigel Warrior, ILB Kristian Welch, RB Ty’Son Williams, OLB Marcus Willoughby and TE Eli Wolf.

Biggest move: Make no mistake about it: The Bengals are all-in on rookie quarterback Joe Burrow. Cincinnati released two of its quarterbacks, veteran Brandon Allen and second-year player Jake Dolegala, which tentatively gives the Bengals two players at that position. In addition to Burrow at the top of the depth chart, Cincinnati has second-year player Ryan Finley as the backup. Cincinnati opted not to keep Allen, who has some starting experience, and Dolegala, a project player who was rostered all of 2019. — Ben Baby

Traded: LB Austin Calitro

Waived/released: DL Freedom Akinmoladun, QB Brandon Allen, DL Amani Bledsoe, DT Trey Dishon, QB Jake Dolegala, OL O’Shea Dugas, TE Jordan Franks, DE Kendall Futrell, LS Dan Godsil, S Trayvon Henderson, WR Trenton Irwin, OL Josh Knipfel, WR DaMarkus Lodge, CB Greg Mabin, CB Torry McTyer, WR Stanley Morgan, RB Jacques Patrick, CB Winston Rose, TE Mason Schreck, LB Brady Sheldon, S Maurice Smith, DE Bryce Sterk, LB Marcel Spears Jr., WR Scotty Washington, TE Mitchell Wilcox

Reserve/suspended: DT Renell Wren

Biggest move: The Browns decided, for now, at least, to go with five tight ends in perhaps the most surprising development of cut-down day in Cleveland. With fourth-round draft pick Harrison Bryant having turned heads in camp, Cleveland also opted to keep Stephen Carlson and Pharaoh Brown, along with projected starters Austin Hooper and David Njoku in coach Kevin Stefanski’s two-tight end system. Brown gives the Browns a block-first element off the edge, while Carlson is coming off a promising 2019 rookie season. Keeping five tight ends also gives Cleveland the flexibility to listen to any offer that might come for Njoku, who requested a trade in the offseason before later rescinding it. — Jake Trotter

Waived/released: QB Kevin Davidson, QB Garrett Gilbert, RB Dontrell Hilliard, RB Benny LeMay, FB Johnny Stanton, WR Ja’Marcus Bradley, WR Damion Ratley, WR Taywan Taylor, OT Brady Aiello, OT Alex Taylor (injured), C Jon Toth, OG Michael Dunn, OG Willie Wright, DE Robert McCray, DE Chad Thomas, DT Daniel Ekuale, LB Solomon Ajayi, LB Willie Harvey, LB Montrel Meander, CB A.J. Green, CB Robert Jackson, CB Donovan Olumba, S Elijah Benton, S Jovante Moffatt

Biggest move: After two seasons in Pittsburgh, Ryan Switzer was released. When the slot receiver and return man landed on injured reserve last season, WR Diontae Johnson took his job as punt returner. Then in camp, Switzer sustained an ankle injury that slowed him. Despite Switzer’s experience and connection with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers opted to keep recently signed speedy WR and returner Ray-Ray McCloud III over the University of North Carolina product. — Brooke Pryor

Waived/released: QB Paxton Lynch, RB Kerrith Whyte, RB Trey Edmunds, RB Wendell Smallwood, WR Saeed Blacknall, WR DeAndre Thompkins, WR Deon Cain, WR Amara Darboh, WR Ryan Switzer, OL Christian DiLauro, OL John Keenoy, OL, Derwin Gray, OL Anthony Coyle, OL Jarron Jones, TE Kyle Markway, TE Kevin Rader, DL Henry Mondeaux, DL Cavon Walker, DL Calvin Taylor Jr., DL Dan McCullers, LB Tuzar Skipper, LB Jayrone Elliott, DB Trajan Bandy, DB John Battle, DB Antoine Brooks Jr., P Corliss Waitman, LB Liam McCullough

Biggest move: The Texans waived tight end Jordan Thomas, a sixth-round pick in 2018 who had a solid rookie season but spent most of 2019 on injured reserve. He reported for training camp in great shape, and coach Bill O’Brien praised him on more than one occasion. If he isn’t claimed by another team, he should have a spot on Houston’s practice squad. This move also meant that tight end Kahale Warring made the initial 53-man roster. Warring, a third-round pick in 2019, spent all of last season on injured reserve. — Sarah Barshop

Waived/released: DT Angelo Blackson, TE Jordan Thomas, C/G Greg Mancz, OLB Davin Bellamy, WR Chad Hansen, RB Karan Higdon, G Cordel Iwuagwu, ILB Nate Hall, T Rick Leonard, RB Scottie Phillips, S Jonathan Owens, CB Anthony Chesley, WR Isaac Whitney, WR Tyler Simmons, T Elijah Nkansah, T Kyle Murphy posters”>Kyle Murphy, G/T Jerald Hawkins, T Brent Qvale, S Jaylen Watkins, LS Jon Weeks, NT Auzoyah Alufohai, LS Anthony Kukwa, WR Steven Mitchell Jr.

Biggest move: The Colts deciding to go with unproven rookie Rodrigo Blankenship over Chase McLaughlin at kicker. Blankenship and McLaughlin appeared to be in a pretty tight race to replace veteran Adam Vinatieri. You would have thought McLaughlin had the edge over the former University of Georgia product after going 5-of-6 on field goals and 11-of-11 on extra points in four games with the Colts late last season. But Blankenship did enough to impress the coaching staff to win the job. He made all 200 of his extra point attempts and 80 of 97 field goal attempts (82.5%) while at Georgia. — Mike Wells

Waived/released: CB Andre Chachere, DT Kameron Cline, TE Dominique Dafney, OL Jake Eldrenkamp, WR Daurice Fountain, TE Farrod Green, DE Gerri Green, WR DeMichael Harris, OL Brandon Hitner, WR Marcus Johnson, QB Chad Kelly, K Chase McLaughlin, OL Carter O’Donnell, OL Javon Patterson, CB Lafayette Pitts, CB Jackson Porter, CB Travis Reed, S Donald Rutledge Jr., CB Tremon Smith, TE Andrew Vollert, DT Chris Williams, DT Robert Windsor, TE Xavier Grimble, OL Joey Hunt

Reserve/suspended: DE Kemoko Turay

Biggest move: Cutting quarterback Joshua Dobbs isn’t a surprise, but cutting quarterback Mike Glennon too certainly is. The Jaguars brought Glennon in to be a veteran presence and to have valuable experience behind Gardner Minshew in case of in injury. Glennon didn’t have a great camp, but sixth-round pick Jake Luton did, and it makes sense Luton made the team over Dobbs. So the Jaguars are apparently counting on sixth-round magic for the second year in a row if their starter gets hurt. — Mike DiRocco

Waived/released: QB Mike Glennon, DL Caraun Reid, RB Nathan Cottrell, QB Joshua Dobbs, TE Ben Ellefson, LB Nate Evans, TE Matt Flanagan, LB Joe Giles-Harris, WR Terry Godwin, WR Josh Hammond, OL Blake Hance, CB Amari Henderson, OL KC McDermott, OL Garrett McGhin, CB Parry Nickerson, LS Matthew Orzech, OL Austen Pleasants, OL Ryan Pope, S J.R. Waived/injured: WR Michael Walker

Reserve/COVID-19: RB Ryquell Armstead

Biggest move: The Titans released quarterback Trevor Siemian after signing him a week into camp. Siemian battled with Logan Woodside for the backup spot. Initially, it was believed that Siemian would have the inside track since he has 25 career starts, while Woodside has yet to take a snap in a regular-season game. Neither quarterback separated from the competition. Coach Mike Vrabel and general manager Jon Robinson both have been complimentary of Woodside’s work ethic and grasp of the offense throughout the offseason, stating that Woodside is capable of being Tennessee’s backup. They stayed true to their word by releasing Siemian and keeping Woodside. — Turron Davenport

Waived/released Ibraheim Campbell, DB; Zac Kerin, G; Doug Middleton, DB; Chris Milton, DB; Senorise Perry, RB; Trevor Siemian, QB; Tye Smith, DB; Jamal Davis II, DE; Rashard Davis, WR; Kenneth Durden, DB; Cale Garrett, LB; Krishawn Hogan, WR; Tommy Hudson, TE; Joey Ivie, DT; Brandon Kemp, OT; Mason Kinsey, WR; Marcus Marshall, RB; Tucker McCann, K; Jeremy McNichols, RB; Kareem Orr, DB; David Quessenberry, OL; Wyatt Ray, DE; Kobe Smith, DT; Teair Tart, DT; D’Andre Walker, OLB; Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, WR; Kristian Wilkerson, WR

Biggest move: The Broncos made their most notable move on Friday when they called starting inside linebacker Todd Davis out of the linebackers meeting to tell him he was going to be released. Davis started at least 14 games in each of the past four seasons for the Broncos and was one of just three players on the roster who had played in the Super Bowl 50 win. But a calf injury put him on the sideline for most of this training camp. As he was working to come back, the Broncos liked what Josey Jewell did in the base defense and saw enough from new arrival Mark Barron in the nickel to decide to let Davis go. The Broncos will miss Davis’ constant effort, both in practice and games, and his calming voice in the locker room. Cornerback De’Vante Bausby, wide receiver Fred Brown and tackle Jake Rodgers had each started at least one game last season for Broncos and didn’t make it nor did linebacker Justin Hollins, a fifth-round pick in 2019. The Broncos do want Hollins back on the expanded practice squad. — Jeff Legwold

Traded: CB Isaac Yiadom, DL Christian Covington.

Waived/released: T Quinn Bailey, CB De’Vante Bausby, RB LeVante Bellamy, WR Trinity Benson, WR Fred Brown, OLB Malik Carney, S Douglas Coleman III, RB Jeremy Cox, LB Todd Davis, WR Kendall Hinton, S Alijah Holder, LB Justin Hollins, G Tyler Jones, S P.J. Waived/injured: TE Troy Fumagalli.

Injured reserve: TE Austin Fort.

Biggest move: The Chiefs gave up on defensive end Breeland Speaks, a player they traded up to draft in the second round in 2018. Speaks played linebacker as a rookie, then missed all of last season with an injury, so it’s fair to wonder whether the Chiefs ever gave him a chance. He was squeezed out after the Chiefs this year drafted Mike Danna and signed Taco Charlton. Both will provide depth behind the top three of Frank Clark, Alex Okafor and Tanoh Kpassagnon. — Adam Teicher

Waived/released: T Jackson Barton, S Rodney Clemons, LB Omari Cobb, S Adrian Colbert, WR Gehrig Dieter, WR Maurice Ffrench, WR Jody Fortson, LB Darius Harris, TE Daniel Helm, CB Lavert Hill, DT Braxton Hoyett, G Ryan Hunter, CB Chris Lammons, DT Devaroe Lawrence, WR Kalija Lipscomb, RB Elijah McGuire, QB Matt Moore, T Greg Senat, WR Justice Shelton-Mosley, DE Breeland Speaks, QB Jordan Ta’amu, WR Tim Ward, RB DeAndre Washington, OL Darryl Williams

Reserve/suspended: CB Bashaud Breeland, DT Mike Pennel

Reserve/PUP: T Martinas Rankin

Biggest move: Trading third-round pick Lynn Bowden Jr. As the nation’s most versatile college player in Bowden, coach Jon Gruden had a seeming Swiss Army Knife at his disposal. Alas, Bowden’s transition from college QB/WR/KR to NFL RB was rocky, at best, and he did not have a good camp. Sure, the Raiders essentially got linebacker Raekwon McMillan and the fourth-round pick they gave the Dolphins back for Bowden and a sixth-rounder, but whiffing with the No. 80 pick is a bad look. Especially with the Raiders having paid Bowden’s $985,000 bonus and GM Mike Mayock relishing Las Vegas’ three picks in the third round, saying back in April, “That, to me … is just like stealing. If we’re doing our jobs the right way, hopefully, that’s three more starters.” — Paul Gutierrez

Biggest move: With uncertainty around the Week 1 status of wide receiver Mike Williams, who is dealing with a shoulder injury, the Chargers opted to keep six wideouts and signed Keenan Allen to a four-year $80 million deal, including $50 million in guaranteed money. However, fourth-year pro Darius Jennings, who the Chargers signed to a one-year, $935,000 contract in March, didn’t make the cut. Biggest move: The biggest move the Cowboys made came Thursday when they cut veteran safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. There were no other big moves among the Cowboys’ final cuts on Saturday, but there is an eye to making more moves on Sunday with some of their decisions. Linebacker Justin March and cornerback C.J. Goodwin were among the 27 moves to reach the 53-man limit, but both are expected back on the roster as soon as Sunday. Linebacker Sean Lee will be placed on injured reserve because of a pelvis strain, but in order to return to action this season, he needed to be on the 53-man roster for a day. Lee played through a similar injury late last season, but the Cowboys want to give him time for rehab. If all goes well, he will be back for Week 4. Another injury that bears watching is that of right tackle La’el Collins, who did not practice late last week because of a hurt hip. Cornerback Jourdan Lewis (ankle), linebacker Luke Gifford (hamstring), wide receiver Ventell Bryant (knee) and Collins have injury statuses that could lead them to IR on Sunday and knock them out of the first three games. — Todd Archer

Biggest move: Waiving LB Ryan Connelly. It’s not that Connelly, a fifth-round pick last year, was so good this summer that it’s irresponsible for the Giants to keep him off the roster. That’s not the case at all. Connelly is coming back from a serious knee injury that he suffered last year, and he spent several days this summer on the sideline. It’s just that Connelly flashed last season — albeit in a limited sample size — and was so consistently praised for his instincts. But clearly, the new regime believes there are physical limitations, and that landed him off the Giants’ initial 53-man roster. — Jordan Raanan

Waived/released: QB Alex Tanney, QB Cooper Rush, LB Ryan Connelly, DB Chris Williamson, CB Grant Haley, CB Dravon Askew-Henry, CB Prince Smith, DB KeiVarae Russell, TE Garrett Dickerson, TE Eric Tomlinson, OT Eric Smith, DL Niko Lalos, LS Carson Tinker, WR Austin Mack, WR Johnny Holton, WR Alex Bachman, WR Derrick Dillon, WR Binjimen Victor, RB Tavien Feaster, C Jon Halapio, OL Tyler Haycraft, OL Kyle Murphy posters”>Kyle Murphy, DL Daylon Mack, LB Josiah Tauaefa, S Montre Hartage, CB Brandon Williams, CB Jarren Williams

Biggest move: The Eagles released former second-round pick Sidney Jones. He was considered one of the elite cornerbacks in the 2017 draft, but he ruptured his Achilles tendon at his pro day, and he has been hampered by various injuries ever since. Jones, 24, was hoping to vie for the starting corner spot opposite Darius Slay during training camp but missed a significant amount of practice time with a lower-body issue, allowing Avonte Maddox to run away with the competition. A change of scenery might be just what the doctor ordered for Jones, though the Eagles have interest in signing him to the practice squad should he go unclaimed on waivers. — Tim McManus

Waived/released: CB Sidney Jones, CB Rasul Douglas, DE Joe Ostman, DE Shareef Miller, G Sua Opeta, DT Anthony Rush, TE Noah Togiai, T Prince Tega Wanogho, DT Raequan Williams, DB Grayland Arnold, WR Manasseh Bailey, WR Deontay Burnett, WR Travis Fulgham, G Julian Good-Jones, RB Elijah Holyfield, C Luke Juriga, RB Adrian Killins, DB Elijah Riley, TE Tyrone Swoopes, RB Michael Warren, CB Michael Jacquet, TE Caleb Wilson, DE Michael Jacquet, DE Matt Leo, CB Trevor Williams, DT T.Y. McGill

Reserve/injured: G Brandon Brooks, T Andre Dillard

Biggest move: It’s a tie between keeping quarterback Alex Smith and releasing running back Adrian Peterson. At the start of camp, their situations would have been reversed. But Smith showed he has recovered enough from the 2018 broken tibia and fibula (and 17 surgeries) that he still offers value, even if it’s just as a third quarterback. Peterson was the top running back for most of training camp. But in the past week that changed. Other RBs were developing, and quarterback Dwayne Haskins grew comfortable running an offense that would feature multiple options because of its running back versatility. — John Keim

Waived/released: RB Adrian Peterson, S Sean Davis, WR Trey Quinn, WR Cam Sims, TE Richard Rodgers, OL Ross Pierschbacher, WR Tony Brown, TE Hale Hentges, LB Donald Payne, OL Timon Parris, QB Steven Montez, DE Nate Orchard, S Jeremy Reaves, CB Aaron Colvin, OT Paul Adams, DT David Bada, DE Jordan Brailford, G Joshua Garnett, WR Johnathon Johnson, CB Ryan Lewis, LB Jared Norris, OT David Steinmetz, WR Jester Weah

Reserve/ suspended: LB Reuben Foster, DT Ryan Bee, G Michael Liedtke, CB Simeon Thomas, WR Jordan Veasy, WR Kelvin Harmon

Biggest move: Chicago released veteran Cairo Santos on Saturday, but Santos still might kick for the Bears in Week 1 versus Detroit. Eddy Pineiro, last year’s starting kicker, has been sidelined with a groin injury for most of camp. Pineiro made the initial 53-man roster, but there’s no guarantee he’ll be healthy enough to kick in Chicago’s opener. Santos performed well for the Bears in the two weeks he kicked for the team at training camp. — Jeff Dickerson

Waived/released: RB Napoleon Maxwell, WR Ahmad Wagner, WR Alex Wesley, OL Corey Levin, DL Lee Autry, LB Keandre Jones, CB Xavier Crawford, K Cairo Santos, DL LaCale London, RB Artavis Pierce, CB Stephen Denmark, DL Abdullah Anderson, DL Trevon McSwain, WR Rodney Adams, WR Reggie Davis, OL Dieter Eiselen, TE Jesper Horsted, WR Thomas Ives, LB Ledarius Mack, OL Lachavious Simmons, LB Rashad Smith, CB Kevin Toliver, OLB Isaiah Irving, QB Tyler Bray, OL Sam Mustipher, OL Badara Traore

Reserve/suspended: S Marqui Christian

Biggest move: Teams don’t often cut non-seventh-round draft picks as rookies. Yet the Lions did Saturday without even seeing running back Jason Huntley play in a preseason game. Huntley had an inconsistent camp; he was dynamic as a pass-catcher and was stronger than expected as a rusher, but he bobbled multiple return attempts. The thought process in drafting him was he would compete with Jamal Agnew for the return spot and Ty Johnson for a running back slot. Agnew turned in a great camp in his transition to wide receiver and looked sharp as a returner, and Johnson was much improved as a runner. So it could have been a numbers game for Huntley, who might end up on the practice squad if he clears waivers on Sunday. — Michael Rothstein

Waived/released: QB David Blough, RB Jason Huntley, RB Jonathan Williams, RB Wes Hills, WR Chris Lacy, WR Tom Kennedy, WR Victor Bolden, TE Matt Sokol, TE Isaac Nauta, OL Oday Aboushi, OL Beau Benzschawel, OL Kenny Wiggins, OL Dan Skipper (waived/injured), DE Will Clarke, DL Frank Herron, DL Albert Huggins, DT Kevin Strong, DT Olive Sagapolu, DT Kevin Wilkins, LB Anthony Pittman, CB Dee Virgin, S Bobby Price, S Jalen Elliott, P Arryn Siposs, LS Steven Wirtel

Reserve/suspended DE Austin Bryant (PUP), S Jayron Kearse (suspended)

Biggest move: The wide receiver group didn’t play out how some might have thought. A day after Aaron Rodgers mentioned on SiriusXM NFL radio that he felt good about the four returners who played last season — Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Jake Kumerow — but didn’t know what they had behind them, the Packers cut Kumerow. New to the group were Equanimeous St. Brown (IR all last year) and Malik Taylor (practice squad last season). The emergence of Tyler Ervin as a RB/WR also might have contributed to the change. For the first time in 15 years, the Packers didn’t keep a single undrafted rookie coming out of camp. It’s partially due to not having any preseason games for them to impress and partially due to the Pack feeling like they can sneak them through waivers to the expanded 16-man practice squad because no one else saw them. Green Bay kept seven of its nine draft picks in the initial 53. C Jake Hanson (sixth round) was released, while G Simon Stepaniak (sixth) was placed on the non-football injury list while still recovering from a college knee injury. — Rob Demovsky

Waived/released: S DaShaun Amos, LB Krys Barnes, TE Evan Baylis, WR Reggie Begelton, S Henry Black, T Cody Conway, RB Damarea Crockett, OLB Tipa Galeai, C Jake Hanson, G Zack Johnson, WR Jake Kumerow, T John Leglue, T Alex Light, FB John Lovett. Reserve/suspended: LB Curtis Bolton (PUP list), G Simon Stepaniak (NFI list), RB Patrick Taylor (NFI list)

Biggest move: The Vikings kept seven wide receivers on the initial 53-man roster, but one of the biggest risers in training camp was waived on Saturday. Minnesota hopes to get second-year wideout Alexander Hollins onto the practice squad after he challenged Chad Beebe and Tajae Sharpe for reps in camp. Beebe and Sharpe fill out the WR depth chart behind Adam Thielen, Bisi Johnson, Justin Jefferson, fifth-round draft pick/return specialist K.J. Osborn and Dan Chisena, the only undrafted free agent to make Minnesota’s 53. Chisena switched briefly to safety last week before moving back to wideout and helped his case to make the roster based on his special-teams play. The Vikings will soon comb the waiver wire looking to add safety depth behind Harrison Smith and Anthony Harris. The two veterans are the only safeties on the active roster, after Minnesota cut Steven Parker, Josh Metellus and Myles Dorn (injured). — Courtney Cronin

Waived/released: FB Jake Bargas, OT Blake Brandel, OL Aviante Collins, G Kyle Hinton, C Jake Lacina, QB Jake Browning, QB Nate Stanley, CB Nevelle Clarke, CB Mark Fields II, CB Nate Meadors, WR Quartney Davis, WR Alexander Hollins, WR Dillon Mitchell, TE Brandon Dillon, TE Nakia Griffin-Stewart, S Myles Dorn (injured), S Steven Parker, S Josh Metellus, LB Blake Lynch, LB David Reese II, DT David Moa

Reserve/physically unable to perform: LB Ben Gedeon

Contract terminated/vested veteran: C Brett Jones

Biggest move: One of the storylines was the release of former Vikings first-round draft pick Laquon Treadwell. Although he looked the part of a big-time receiver based on his size and speed, Treadwell had some noticeable drops throughout training camp. He would have been more of a reserve with the Falcons confident in Russell Gage behind top two receivers Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley and another big receiver in Christian Blake making the team. Two other former first-rounder draft picks, defensive end Charles Harris and linebacker Deone Bucannon, made the initial 53-man roster as reserves, but there’s no guarantee they will remain. — Vaughn McClure

Waived/released: WR Laquon Treadwell, QB Kurt Benkert, QB Kyle Lauletta, LB Edmond Robinson, DE Hinwa Allieu, DT Sailosi Latu, LB Ray Wilborn, CB J.J. Biggest move: The release of cornerback T.J. Green, the 2016 second-round pick who began camp as a starter. Two weeks in, he was third to rookie Troy Pride Jr. and Eli Apple. This shows just how turbulent — and potentially bad — the corner position is for Carolina. The release of Temarrick Hemingway also was significant, leaving only two tight ends — Ian Thomas and Chris Manhertz. Look for a third tight end to be added from the list of those released or for the position to be minimized by three- to five-receiver sets. — David Newton

Biggest move: The Saints’ two biggest surprises were releasing wide receiver Bennie Fowler and keeping two punters in veteran Thomas Morstead and undrafted rookie Blake Gillikin. It’s unclear how long the Saints plan to keep both punters on the active roster. But it’s apparent they want to avoid losing the promising youngster from Penn State to another team. The Saints actually kept three undrafted rookies (Gillikin, WR Marquez Callaway, DT Malcolm Roach) and two first-year pros (LB Chase Hansen, OL Derrick Kelly II). It is impressive for them to break through despite the abbreviated offseason. … One more item of note: The Saints kept only four DEs, and they missed out on their courtship of free agent Jadeveon Clowney. However, a source said it’s likely they could bring back veteran Margus Hunt. — Mike Triplett

Waived/released: QB/TE Tommy Stevens, WR Bennie Fowler, WR Austin Carr, WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey, WR Emmanuel Butler, WR Juwan Johnson, RB Tony Jones Jr., TE Garrett Griffin, TE Ethan Wolf, G/T Patrick Omameh, G/C Cameron Tom, OL Jordan Steckler, OL Calvin Throckmorton, DE Mario Edwards Jr., DE Margus Hunt, DE T.J. Injured reserve: DE Anthony Lanier II.

Reserve/suspended: OT James Hurst.

Biggest move: The Bucs cut last year’s special-teams captain and third-down running back Dare Ogunbowale due to the addition of Leonard Fournette. Ogunbowale outperformed rookie Ke’Shawn Vaughn, likely due to Vaughn getting a late start in camp because of being on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Still, Tampa Bay feels Vaughn has untapped potential, and it wouldn’t want to subject him to waivers as a third-round draft pick. The Bucs also released center A.Q. Shipley, although it’s quite possible that they’ll bring him back soon, once initial rosters are set and injured players are moved to IR. As a veteran, Shipley won’t be subject to waivers, which made this a safe move. — Jenna Laine

Shipley, QB Reid Sinnett, CB Mazzi Wilkins

Reserve/suspended: S Justin Evans (PUP), RB T.J. Logan (IR), WR John Franklin (IR)

Biggest move: There were two: Cornerback Chris Jones and rookie linebacker Evan Weaver were released. Jones played some important snaps for the Cardinals last season, and with the season-ending pec injury to Robert Alford during camp impacting the secondary, Jones appeared to be someone who could give Arizona some much-needed depth. And Weaver, as a sixth-round draft pick, was someone the coaching staff spoke highly about because of his collegiate production, and he was believed to be a player who would receive significant reps and provide some depth early in his NFL career. — Josh Weinfuss

Waived/released: S Kentrell Brice, DL Jonathan Bullard, TE Dylan Cantrell, DL Trevon Coley, CB Ken Crawley, RB D.J. Foster, CB Chris Jones, OL Koda Martin, WR Andre Patton, WR A.J. Waived/injured: WR Johnnie Dixon, OL Brett Toth

Biggest move: The Rams signed three kickers to compete in training camp for the job left behind by Greg Zuerlein, who signed in free agency with the Dallas Cowboys. It appeared former CFL kicker Lirim Hajrullahu and XFL kicker Austin MacGinnis were the front-runners in the competition throughout most of training camp, so it comes as a surprise that Sam Sloman, a seventh-round pick from Miami (Ohio), won the job. “Sam really just made a push these last couple days,” Rams coach Sean McVay said after cuts were announced. “Just the pop he has in his leg, some of the youth that he has, and I also was impressed with the mental toughness.” — Lindsey Thiry

Waived/released: DB Adonis Alexander, LB Daniel Bituli, TE Kendall Blanton, C Cohl Cabral, DT Marquise Copeland, OG Jamil Demby, DB Donte Deayon, WR Earnest Edwards, DB Jake Gervase, K Lirim Hajrullahu, DT Michael Hoecht, DB Juju Hughes, LB Clay Johnston, RB John Kelly, OG Jeremiah Kolone, WR J.J. Waived/injured: LB Justin Lawler

Reserve/injured: LB Travin Howard

Reserve/non-football injury: DT A’Shawn Robinson

Biggest move: The team activated wide receiver Deebo Samuel from the non-football injury list, which makes him eligible to practice and play in Week 1. That’s a good sign for a team that has been hit hard by injury at wideout. San Francisco also restructured defensive end Dee Ford‘s contract, creating $9.5 million in additional salary-cap space that gives the Niners some much-needed flexibility moving forward, with so many key players set for unrestricted free agency after the season. — Nick Wagoner

Waived/released: DL Alex Barrett, WR River Cracraft, S Johnathan Cyprien, DL Darrion Daniels LB Evan Foster, C Hroniss Grasu, TE MarQueis Gray, TE Chase Harrell, CB Tim Harris, RB JaMycal Hasty, FB Josh Hokit, WR Jauan Jennings, CB Dontae Johnson, OT Jaryd Jones-Smith, DE Dion Jordan, DE Cameron Malveaux, S Jared Mayden, WR Shawn Poindexter, OL Dakoda Shepley, OL William Sweet, DB Jamar Taylor, LB Joe Walker, WR Kevin White

Waived/injured: OL Ross Reynolds

Reserve/physically unable to perform: DL Ronald Blair III, C Weston Richburg, DL Jullian Taylor

Reserve/COVID-19: LB Fred Warner

Biggest move: Keeping rookie defensive end Darrell Taylor on the non-football injury list to begin the season means the Seahawks’ already questionable pass rush will be missing some firepower early on. But the writing was on the wall with this move, as Taylor, Seattle’s 2020 second-round pick, has yet to start practicing as he works his way back from the stress fracture in his leg that he played through last season at Tennessee. And it doesn’t appear as though Jadeveon Clowney is coming back to give Seattle’s defensive line the primary pass-rushing threat it is lacking. Saturday was uneventful by the Seahawks’ cut-down day standards. They didn’t make any surprise cuts or outside additions, snapping a six-year streak of general manager John Schneider making at least one trade on cut-down day. — Brady Henderson

Waived/released: QB Danny Etling, QB Anthony Gordon, WR Paul Richardson Jr., WR Lance Lenoir Jr., WR Aaron Fuller, WR Penny Hart, WR Cody Thompson, FB Nick Bellore, OT Tommy Champion, OT Chad Wheeler, TE Stephen Sullivan, TE Tyler Mabry, DT Demarcus Christmas, DT P.J.
